Life Development Resources is looking for therapist who is motivated to work within court-referred Sexual Health Program. This program serves individuals with histories of sexual harm and has been used to equip people to better understand the impact of their past behaviors, learn new skills to avoid and reduce risk, and to recover from histories that often include trauma and violence as foundational early learning experiences. Therapy is often related to trauma, depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation leading to abusive behaviors that cause pain and distress for others and the client.
Part-time and full-time Mental Health Provider positions currently available.
Pay is commission-based for all Licensed Psychotherapists and Clinical Trainees.
Therapist’s main responsibility is to provide the necessary care and support to help people resolve and manage identified problems that contribute to distress. Professional responsibilities will include:
- Clinical Contact: Intakes, Individual Therapy, Group Facilitation, Case Consultation, and coordinating care as needed.
- Assessing person’s emotional and mental health and strategies used to alleviate distress.
- Provide therapy to clients on issues that are important to them
- Provide therapy to clients on issues related to sexual health, sexual wellness, and sexual harm.
- Intervening with emergency care and using established protocols when clients are in crisis
- Maintaining detailed confidential records
Ideally qualified candidates would have the following skills:
- Extensive knowledge of mental health conditions and best practices for psychological treatment
- Well-developed knowledge of matters related to sexual health and sexual harm
- Strong sense of accountability and compassion as applied to people with histories of sexual harm.
- Clinical skills to establish therapeutic relationships that are helpful and collaborative in nature.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective treatment plans
- Interpersonal effectiveness skills to help influence others to make desired changes
- Organization skills to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Familiarity with privacy and safety laws
- Computer skills to operate record keeping, scheduling, email and word processing software
EDUCATION / LICENSING / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
- Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling
- Licensed Therapist is preferred
- Working toward being licensed will be considered
- DBT informed, formal DBT training is available
- EMDR informed, formal EMDR training is available
- Familiarity with risk assessment tools specific for sexual abuse prevention
- Familiarity with coordinated relationships with Community Supervision
