Receptionist Job Duties:

Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phones
Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
Schedules current clients and takes new intake information and matches the client with the therapist for a first time appointment
Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
Registers new clients by collecting insurance card and driver’s license. Updates existing patient demographics by collecting patient information including personal and financial information
Collects co-pays and payments at time of appointment
Notifies the therapist of clients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with clients and staff
Responds to clients, prospective clients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner
Keeps office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs, and monitoring office equipment and letting the office manager know if supplies are running low.
Bring out mail and sort mail and put in the correct mailboxes
Protects patient confidentiality by making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
Help out in other areas such as Billing and DBT.
Other general office duties as needed

Excellent communication abilities and data entry skills are essential. Microsoft Office Suite, Problem Solving, Organizational skills & Multitasking.
