Receptionist Job Duties:

 Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phones

 Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette

 Schedules current clients and takes new intake information and matches the client with the therapist for a first time appointment

 Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized

 Registers new clients by collecting insurance card and driver’s license. Updates existing patient demographics by collecting patient information including personal and financial information

 Collects co-pays and payments at time of appointment

 Notifies the therapist of clients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with clients and staff

 Responds to clients, prospective clients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner

 Keeps office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs, and monitoring office equipment and letting the office manager know if supplies are running low.

 Bring out mail and sort mail and put in the correct mailboxes

 Protects patient confidentiality by making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.

 Help out in other areas such as Billing and DBT.

 Other general office duties as needed

 Excellent communication abilities and data entry skills are essential.  Microsoft Office Suite, Problem Solving, Organizational skills & Multitasking.
