David Hemingway

David Hemingway, MA, LPCC, LMFT, earned his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University in 2007 and his Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler Graduate School in 2008. He enjoys working with people of all ages individually and in family systems. His work with children and adolescents includes both individual and family components.  David has extensive experience providing therapy to children from birth to 18 who have experienced trauma, grief and other negative life experiences. He has evidence-based trauma training to work with these age groups, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ages: 6-18 ) Child-Parent Psychotherapy (ages: birth-5), and play therapy.  David is also EMDR, DBT-C and DBT trained.


SpecialtyChild or adolescent emotional and behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, parenting concerns, family conflict, working alongside families dealing with life transitions, including foster care, adoption, childhood chronic illness and spiritual issues.
