Marcus Padilla

Marcus is pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Social Work at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and is expected to graduate in April 2024. He is interested in working with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Furthermore, he provides School-Linked Behavioral Health Services (SLBH) and Systemic Family Therapy (SFT). He employs a strengths-based empowerment theory to promote each client’s independence and quality of life. In addition, he uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect their perception of themselves.

Marcus has nearly 30 years of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges. He has specialized in crisis interventions. Marcus enjoys providing support, skills, and a safe space for individuals with intellectual disabilities.


Specialty: Trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting issues, child/adolescent behavioral difficulties, anger, mindfulness, LGTBQ+, BPD, ADHD, people with intellectual disabilities, and their families.

Education: B.A. Music from Minnesota State University-Moorhead, Master’s student in Clinical Social Work at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
