Haylee Baier, MSW, LICSW is an Outpatient Therapist in the Lakeville Office and thoroughly enjoys working with adolescents and adults, especially those aged 13+. She offers both in-person and telehealth sessions. She is also a clinical supervisor to those working towards clinical licensure as a LICSW in MN and is the director of HIPAA and Compliance. Haylee earned her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from St. Catherine University and University of St. Thomas.
Haylee has experience working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, mood disorders, behavioral concerns, anger, complex trauma, and those involved in the justice system. Haylee works from a client-centered, holistic and strengths-based perspective to help guide clients to a place of healing and growth. This approach takes into consideration the many systems and environments her clients may be involved in, and how these play a role in their life. Haylee finds using empathy, validation and even a bit of humor is beneficial for helping clients begin to move towards change.
What to expect in the first 1-2 sessions?
During the first couple of sessions, the main goals are to build rapport and a therapeutic alliance, gather history on your life, experiences, and how these may impact you today. This allows Haylee to tailor the therapeutic services and interventions to best address your goals to continue building a life that is fulfilling for you. She will walk you through all diagnostic findings and options for therapy that would fit your individual needs.
Haylee has years of experience providing:
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for adults & adolescents/teens
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- The Flash Technique (Most commonly used alongside EMDR)
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
EMDR, Flash Technique, and TF-CBT are modalities that are most commonly used to treat PTSD and trauma, in addition to benefiting various other concerns.
Haylee feels strongly about creating a welcoming space for all clients, no matter their race, ethnicity, religion, abilities, identity, and more. She wants her potential clients to know that she is committed to continuous self-reflection and ongoing education and learning to provide culturally responsive care for all. Haylee recognizes that some individuals may prefer to work with therapists who share their own lived experiences, and if desired, she will offer referrals to clinicians who may better fit one’s preferences. Haylee is also always open to feedback from all clients during their work together.
